Spectacular 5 Country Scandinavian Cruise” on Costa’s Atlantica

Posted in Cruises  by ste01153 on May 20th, 2010

I met dozens of ships on various lines and in my opinion, this is as good as it gets on a mega-liner of the 2200 + 920 crew passengers. Costa Atlantica was a floating palace of art deco furniture, marble inlaid floors and millions of dollars invested in the original artwork. It exceeded my expectations. Also, I used to lose weight on board cruise ships artificial price alerts. This time, I have spoiled more varied menus of fresh food. I ate ice cream and prosciutto enough a decade. Italian cuisine with an emphasis has been prepared by Euro-chefs and culinary graduates of the famous Chain of Roasters.

We had a great group of 60, harmoniously. No love connections occurred (as far as I know), but the friendships we’ve tied our AFS private tours and shore parties on board. This group has been blessed with the best time in the entire Baltic region could ever offer – 68 º day and no rain. The first officer said: “This was the best time of the summer.”

Each country visited was a lesson in culture and history. We have seen an eyeful along 1987 nautical miles. Copenhagen, Denmark – with its sirens, Stockholm, Sweden – Venice of the North Island, Helsinki, Finland – so friendly, modern and clean referred Greater St. Petersburg in Russia, where we pressed full speed on a tour of the Hermitage , palaces, onion dome churches, canals and a ballet evening. Our last port was charming Tallinn in Estonia, where all the old walled city is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was like a fairy tale.

For our sea days, there is never a dull moment with 3 swimming pools, shops, a casino, a luxury spa and games with the crew. The gym is on two floors, was so high tech that I do not know how to use the equipment, so the only exercise I got was jumping to conclusions. The midnight buffet was the best I’ve ever known with many ice sculptures. There was homemade bread baked on the piano and the form of white chocolate.

On our last night, we have tried to gather all of our jewelry: Fabergé egg, Russian dolls, Swedish crystal, glassware Finish, Nordic tin, lingonberry jam, amber jewelry, hand knitted sweaters and a million T Pack-shirts. Much like our fur hats can be found in a garage sale one day, but the negotiations was fun.

We sampled a taste of the buffet, 5 Countries, leaving fully satisfied. As I said Bon Voyage to this unique part of this world, I’m able to travel well is another failure.
