“Peaks of Patagonia & Chilean Vineyards”

Posted in Festival  by ste01153 on February 25th, 2010

Dramatic landscapes provided us a while Kodak continues. It is late spring in the region and the weather was cooperative with lots of sun. It is a country where the unexpected is the norm, so we came prepared for wind and occasional rain.

After a break in the lovely Hotel Neruda and a city tour of Santiago, we flew south to Punta Arenas. There we transferred 2 hours by bus to Puerto Natales in the Patagonian steppe. We hosted a night at the spartan but comfortable Hotel Charles Darwin and a fantastic dinner of crab and fresh salmon.

The next day we had a few hours on the dangers of cutting vessel “21 de Mayo” above the fjord Ultima Esperanza. We stopped for a walk around the beautiful Serrano glacier and a lamb for lunch in an isolated farm cattle. Later we Zodiac boats for an exciting ride to our lodge located in Torres del Paine National Park. Hosteria Pehoe is hardy for an amount of € 200 per room, but it is on the edge of a turquoise glacial lake with a view indescribable. The bottom of steep mountains covered with long shaggy ice was strong as a postcard.

Three days were spent visiting the park. We managed to photograph the event, including wildlife guanaco llama family, foxes, flamingos, sea lions, black neck swans, condors, cormorants and more. Many of our group has organized a night hike to see the elusive puma but none were found. Leisure is for riding and canoeing magnificent Grey Glacier and it was a pleasure. Some people have opted for 8 hours of heavy walking on the famous towering peaks known as Torres.

We flew to Puerto Montt, and checked in the first class Hotel Gran Pacifica for four nights at the beautiful lake region of Chile to explore. It began in the Puyehue National Park with the spectacular backdrop of two very active volcanoes Osorno and Calbuco said. The afternoon was spent in the hot springs of Aguas Calientes for a swim in the crystal waters of 110 º. Here, we participated in an optional cable swing canopy adventure through the treetops, which was more fun than a barrel of monkeys. On the way back to our hotel, we visited a handicraft market with an excellent purchase on alpaca sweaters and blue lapis stoned jewelry.

The next day we raft the mighty river Petrohue Class 3 and 4 White Rapids. Four people fell from a raft but wet suites inverted provide protection from ice water and expert guides in kayaks were able to quickly find all. This trip was for me the highlight of the trip.

The eight days, we enjoyed a catamaran cruise along the shores of Lake of the Saints also called Emerald Lake for its bright colors Peulla. The lush green forest is in the foothills of the Andes and covers 220,000 hectares. We shot a sequence of gorgeous waterfall and powerful volcanic rocks covered with ice Osorno.

Our vacation experience culminated back in Santiago with a farewell feast of seafood in an upscale restaurant. Before the departure airport, we toured the Cavas del Maipo Winery. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch barbecue steak and drank wine in infinity, including some grapes are among the nations most valued exports.

Ten days was enough here to see full view. I had my fill of salmon and lamb for a lifetime and bounce on a trip well done. We had an excellent group of 35 participants, most who met as strangers and returned as friends for life. The cost of this trip was $ 2,397, plus taxes round-trip air from Miami and all internal flights included. The $ 100 Chilean visa was extra. It was a good value and the guides were excellent.

I’m on tour more than 30 countries. The beauty here lies in the remote, untouched and unspoiled nature in its finest glory. In Patagonia, God created a perfect juxtaposition of the fjords of New Zealand, Swiss Alps and British Columbia forests and lakes. Chile is an abuse of language is not connected to peppers. It was the Inca word “far country.” I felt later in this small country that extends to the end of the world, but he was able to experience all the comforts of home. It certainly exceeded my expectations and I recommend it for adventurous list of must-see destinations of a lifetime.

“München Liebt Dich” And You Will Love It

Posted in Festival  by ste01153 on February 18th, 2010

new motto of the city, “Munich loves you can be” a very commercial, but that’s exactly how you feel from the time your luggage at the airport. It is not arrogant to say that overeagerly whoever you are, this Bavarian capital will head over-heels in love with all or part of its eclectic mish mosh-cultures. There is certainly something for everyone when you travel to Munich.

Among the German cities, Munich is Berlin’s most cosmopolitan sister, with perhaps a bit of a crisis of identity among adolescents. Throughout history Munich has often taken a different path as the German general. During the Reformation, Munich remained firm affiliated with the Catholic Church, and while people enjoyed the flourishing Renaissance, the Duke marveled in such initiatives as the insolvency of those very institutions.

Besides Munich Kingdom of Bavaria maintained its sovereign status of the notorious habits prompted Germany Germany Ludwig II of Bavaria, the region to fully incorporate in 1871. After the war, Munich was a hotbed of social movements where the Nazi party was able to grow deep roots and slowly taking hold of the government. In 1938, the first concentration camp, Dachau was built in the north. Visitors to Munich can take a tour of this historic site, which has been largely destroyed but contains memorials and an extensive collection of information about the Second World War.

When Munich
The best way to experience Munich is to think and act like a local. There are a host of wonderful cultural experiences in the heart of the city, dominated by many visitors. Assimilate your way into Bavarian life by attending one of the great classics and modern Residenztheater, excellent artistic alternative to the National Theatre, also in the center of the city. To the north, the royal family summer residence, Nymphenburg is a more desirable alternative to the overcrowded tourist Residenz in central Marienplatz for its beautiful gardens, stables, ice skating in winter, natural history and science museums and public parks. The palace is open for public viewing throughout the year too. At night, pubs and jazz clubs open their doors with a generous hospitality to anyone showing a little respect and appreciation for the German way of life. Spring from the central square for a meal fit for a King of Bavaria to find and cocktails for the native talker.

Beyond beer gardens in Bavaria
Although Munich is home to one of the biggest beer gardens in the world, not the famous Oktoberfest, its proximity to Italy, the Alps and the Mediterranean says the Munich final destination for German travelers . Spring and autumn are the best times to take advantage of Munch, but in winter, known for its riots six weeks of pre-Lent gala of Festivals, dances and general pampering. Even that Munich is only a stopover on the way, you have to drop everything and rewrite your plans!

“Incredible India” with Pushkar Camel Festival

Posted in Festival  by ste01153 on February 4th, 2010

We come to the land of 1000 languages and 1000 gods. At the Intercontinental, the women in my group are welcomed with marigolds and branded with the distinctive red point on our foreheads. This hotel is an oasis of luxury in a polluted city of 14 million people. Two days are spent touring Delhi. The obligatory sites include Gandhi’s Tomb and many World Heritage sites. Nowhere else have ancient traditions blend with modern, on a scale so evident as in Delhi. Fat sacred Brahma bulls block traffic delays. In this country Hindu rule cows. Dogs, monkeys and children cross at their own risk.

I love spicy food and start each day with a breakfast three-alarm curry. We go by the coach of Rajasthan, the beautiful desert state where cows are replaced by camels. The air is sweet and everything more colorful. Here are a microcosm of everything that India a. The people are honest with humility and spirit and still light when they see strangers. We are continually wave through our windows to those who look with curiosity and seem to say: “Why are you here?” As a fan of the third world, this place is my dream list for years. I will now quickly introduce this element of the trip that makes me wonder.

We came to the annual camel fair in Pushkar to attend, which occurred a thousand years. In the world’s largest, is at its peak attracted 50,000 camels with 200,000 traders. We approach our camp called Exotic Adventures. Our spartan tents have private toilets but toilet paper is at a premium. There was a guard 24 hours outside that meagerly rationed our quota. In the desert, nights are frigid and afternoons sweltering. Believe me there is a guest at the U.S. Embassy that I felt like an episode of “Survivor.” She laughs assured me that everything was worthwhile. Soon my shock turns to fear when I present the fairgrounds.

Situated on miles of shifting dunes decorated with camels and a flood of pilgrims, the scene seems completely surreal. It’s like a state fair on steroids. There was a flurry of horse, beef and camel races, contests for milking, animal decorating, turban tying charmers, tattooing and the snake, free rides, mystics, astrologers and stalls dazzling craft priced gift. The ground resounds with the activities. Thousands of Rajasthani woman have arrived dressed in their best clothes near neon colors. I watch trained monkeys, painted cows and cobra’s dance. No words can adequately describe how this Helter Skelter overwhelms my 5 senses. Others can Europe with its cathedrals and museums. For me, this exhibit exotic and cultural immersion is the ultimate travel!

Under the dust, we return to camp. Each evening there is entertainment under the stars with musicians, folk dancers, puppet show or fire-eaters. No alcohol is there and all meals are vegetarian buffet allowed. An Ayurveda Centre offers treatments to clean the toxins from the body. We reject, vomiting, enemas, nasal discharge and blood.

We visit the holy city of Pushkar and the sacred lake created by Brahma. Pilgrims come from afar to bathe in the ghats and worship round the clock. We learn about religions here: Zorastrism, Sihkism, a Sufi mystic, Jains do not kill a mosquito, Hinduism that there is no absolute truth and the caste system claims. We tour temples at the lake, some are “blessed” by priests. Later, a highlight to me was a one hour Camel Cart Safari behind the scenes of the show. Children line our route shouting to us: “Hello, hello, one pen please! “We see a camel slaughtered and half naked people to wash. Returning to the shore, we visit an orphanage and scatter individually to get lost in the festivities of fever. We ride camels spit huge that we provide a perspective of increased all that. I bought a dozen necklaces and silver bracelets garnet bands. Adolescents approach Terry to shoot him. It is 6′5”. A friendly than him: “Sir, what do you eat?
Our group was great!

There are endless food courts however we must move all the temptations of “Delhi Belly to avoid.” Find me the wonderful cacophony of chaos. Pushkar is truly a feast for local business and we are just observant guests. I am so grateful to experience in itself, but the time to spend with our busy itinerary.

We arrive at the famous “pink city” of Jaipur, now more deep maroon from pollution. On tour of his palace, fort and architectural marvels, we learn the great Amber rulers and Maharajas of the Mughal Empire. The story comes to life and I find myself so interested that I cared. And here is a shopper’s paradise for silk sarees, gems, jewelry and crafts from stone. I visited an animal sanctuary called “helping those who suffer. ” The worst cases of various types are handled by veterinary volunteers. Forty-five stray dogs are sterilized daily and I witness a surgery. (See www.HIS-INDIA.com) You can simply send a check to help them.
By helping those who suffer “a castrated dog veterinary volunteers donate about Suzy

On the Great to see Fatehpur Sikri, the city of Saint-Akbar “that was due to the scarcity of water. We finally reach Agra, a broken city of 2.5 million. Hawkers harass us. Chained dance Bears for rupees in the street. Hungry children begging. We are grateful for the luxury Sheraton here with its western cuisine and affordable massages at $ 20 deposit. It was like a change in the galaxy city.

After witnessing the miracles of watching along the way, we saved the best for last the greatest tribute to love the world. Goosebumps place I present to you the door of the majestic Taj Mahal. the morning sun burns like a perfect pearl … 22 years to build 200,000 men with 2 million pieces of inlaid precious stones. After a lecture on why this perfect symmetry was created for Queen Mumtaz, we explained to photograph what appears to be a mirage. There is poetry in architecture and fine as can be expected.

Returning to Delhi, we all enjoy a free day of free time to explore if we choose! The most runs, because prices are low, but how pashmina shawls needs an extravagant? For our last evening we attend a show called Dances of India, followed by a farewell party for our last (Indian) Supper.

I pull another journey well done with excellent guides, drivers, assistance and accommodation. I remember my favorite moment occurred when I was two years at the exhibition “body guides hired to help me through the crowds, Jamal and Ranshi. The boy, two 11-year-old related to me like barnacles and their beaming smiles will forever remain in my memory of India. This trip has renewed my curiosity about the world still remember that my love for travel is spreading. The more I see, the more I want to see.

This country is for the seasoned traveler. I am very impressed by the tenacity and patience of my group of 60 people in a country of infrastructure erratic. For some it was their first visit to the Third World, but she persevered like pros. To testify against suffering first is how to maximize the home appraised. We have seen terrible things well and happy. The word “fascinating” would be a sum of the whole trip. I should go.
